Chicago, IL, July 15, 2004 – Monotract member and No Fun Fest founder Carlos Giffoni, from New York, will join Montreal’s Aids Wolf, along with Panicsville and BLOODYMINDED, both from Chicago, at the recently christened space, Enemy, in Chicago’s Wicker Park.

Carlos Giffoni is a Venezuelan artist who resides in the New York City area, applying erroneous feedback synthesis systems, modular manipulation, rewired electronic instruments, and live re-synthesis to the composition of electronic music pieces, as well as improvising live with locally and internationally renowned musicians. Giffoni is currently applying digital technologies to create interactive environments that combine sound and visuals, computer vision, live sensor input, and algorithmic composition at Parsons School of Design. Giffoni remains very active performing live in New York, throughout the United States, and internationally; as a solo artist, as a member of the group Monotract, and in collaboration with numerous other avant-garde musicians. He is also the celebrated curator of the No Fun Fest, a yearly event in Brooklyn bringing together a wide variety of international experimental musicians. Aids Wolf, the new project from Chloe and Yannick, formerly of The Electric End, started: "as a cosmic energy force in the summer of lust, 2002,” at the More than Music festival in Columbus, Ohio. “The words came from the spirits. In March 2003 the energies formed into humanoid shapes and Aids Wolf showed its face to the public." The said humanoid shapes perform as a combo of two guitars, drum and screams with the occasional didgeridoo. The music is pure energy with hardcore, punk and rock thrown in a very noisy cosmic soup. The band likes to think that they sound like a traffic accident, while true on a certain level, like the power involved, the effects are much longer lasting in their case. Somewhere above the paroxysm of sexual heights and raw animalism, Aids Wolf laugh and rock harder. The true measuring stick of the rock band is the stage, and this is where Aids Wolf shines, in good or bad situations alike. Known for their incredible loft shows, they are equally competent at blowing a lot better known bands off the stage. Despite technical problems that made them a one-guitar band for ten minutes they managed to totally destroy any competition in a recent show, and played in the middle of the floor because of they didn't like the stage at the venue. “'Gift Givers' is the third full-length release from BLOODYMINDED, the group fronted by Mark Solotroff, formerly of Intrinsic Action. Following on from their 'Mothercare' single, 'Gift Givers' lyrically deals with the similar subject matter of obsessive and self-destructive behavior. Multi-layered desperate, pained vocals in English, Spanish and French form a coded web of messages over a violent, aggressive noise inferno that sounds like field-recordings from the apocalypse.
