Flood update:

I spoke too soon. After sifting through the Eyehategod message board this morning, it is apparent that everyone is accounted for except Mike and Alicia.

Here in Chicago, the first discussions of a benefit show began this morning. I will post more information as soon as I can.

Thursday, September 01, 2005

I want to acknowledge that a friend of the band - Dell - died very unexpectedly this past weekend. Although he was not a part of the "noise scene," he - along with his girlfriend, and our friend, Iris - was a close member of our social scene, and the two of them were gracious enough to put up with our racket, attending several of our live shows to support the band. Dell's funeral will be held on Saturday. Here is a link to his obituary:

Endtime message...

It looks like the guys in Eyehategod really need some help:

"Katrina has fucked a million plus people
NOLA is now submerged....
our equipment, cars, food - homes -entire lives...
all gone... it will be at least a month before we can even find out how bad this shit is.

meanwhile... we have nothing, except our fans

you can help us by clicking below and donating to us whatever you can, via paypal.

all funds will go directly to restoring eyehategod, their equipment, food and of course not drugs..."

The images on the news of New Orleans and other Southern cities is totally intense. Despite the reports of zero telephone service, I tried to call our friends Alicia and Mike, with no success. Best wishes to the extended Eyehategod family in NOLA and beyond.

Advance notice:

BLOODYMINDED member Pieter Schoolwerth will have a new painting show at Elizabeth Dee Gallery in NYC, opening on Saturday, October 8, 2005.
