Thanks to Blake for getting the ball rolling on this one. Thanks to Pete, and everyone else at the Empty Bottle, for the totally smoothly run show. Thanks to all of our friends who came out. Thanks to Marlene, for videotaping. I guess that the tally for the night was 176 people. Not too shabby for a Monday night... Thanks to Team Rococo, for the thoughtful "DR9" poster! It was an excellent show, overall. Six bands in under three hours. Solid sets. Great visuals from I.H.P. - I could watch T-Rex chase the stag all night. Cool Hive Mind, I mean Intrinsic Action shades by Blake - why no mask? I enjoyed another opportunity for an Insect Deli/Vertonen team-up. Great to hear Jacob and Bryan over that PA. Cotton Museum and Sick Llama also both sounded amazing over the Empty Bottle's system. I was really happy that it worked out for Chris and Heath to come down for this show, and that I got to see/hear them twice in three days.

Thanks to everyone for the great enthusiasm during our show. I think that we managed to put out a pretty high-energy set, which we really needed to do, after Friday and Saturday's less-than-spectacular results. I definitely enjoyed having the full five-piece Chicago line-up in place for this one. Two more interesting shows next week, so...

Thanks to everyone who donated to the Tarantula Hill fund. Thanks to Miles for setting this benefit up. Thanks to Joel for cooking so many pizzas. Thanks to Grey for sitting in with us. The night had a great party vibe. Overall, it was a lot of fun. Really great sets, all around. A jarring kick-off by Miles. Piercing frequencies from Steev and Andy. My first KVLTS show... WTF? Total hacking intensity from Aaron. The Cotton Museum levitation act ruled. Extreme subterranean murk from Heath. Great PA for a basement show; bad power adaptor to the house mixer - sound was cutting in and out. The intense crowd action got the better of our gear. We cut things short. Thanks to Pat Yankee for trying to get us to the Mermaid Lounge. No luck this time...
