The M.O. "Forbidden Ground" 7-inch test pressing was approved yesterday. With a lot of luck, the vinyl will be ready by late next week, just in time to take on tour.

All paid pre-orders for the new BLOODYMINDED and Intrinsic Action CDs have been sent, as of this afternoon.

Well, the turnout for autosuggestion02 was barely better than last month. Too bad, as it was a fantastic show. Thanks so much to David Reed for making the trip in. It was a really excellent Envenomist set! I cannot wait for our upcoming Columbus show... This was my favorite Death Factory set ever, Is showed yet another facet of his/their multi-sided aresenal, and I had a great introduction to The Machinist after only hearing one CD of his. Blake played more marching band music... and some excellent vintage hardcore, etc. Thanks to everyone who was involved! I also appreciate everyone's effort in coming out after such a long weekend of shows, etc. Hey, it takes 10 - 20 minutes to drive to the Nite Cap from just about anywhere in the city, and parking is a breeze. Try finding a space on Milwaukee Avenue in Wicker Park as easily... I updated the website with information for autosuggestion03, and the linked Flickr page has a big set of photographs from last night, too.

Then right before David Reed and I were about to leave for the Nite Cap, UPS came with:

NEW RELEASES

--------------------------------------------------

RELEASED MID- TO LATE-MARCH:

BloodLust! 057
BLOODYMINDED
"MAGNETISM"
CD

"Magnetism" is the fourth full-length BLOODYMINDED
album, surprisingly, released just over a year after their
last CD, "Gift Givers." Approximately 46-minutes in length,
the new album reflects an updated approach to the band’s
sound, and it is comprised of fifteen feedback-drenched
tracks - ten of which are relatively full-length songs and five
of which are the band’s trademark blast songs. Track length
lines might be a bit blurred, though. Some listeners might
equate the sound of "Magnetism" to the band’s often urgent,
turbulent live sound. This album features more-abstract,
eccentric, guttural vocals that encompass screaming,
howling, yelling, moaning, etc., and which will no-doubt
divide listener opinion. Like "Gift Givers," the CD was
co-produced by Brian Joseph Gaynor and Mark Solotroff,
this time utilizing a new studio: Slang Musicgroup. Veteran
designer Megan Emish created a handsome black and
white Digipak to house the CD.

Recording, mixing, and mastering was completed in mid-
February. The master was sent to the plant and the race
is on... We hope to release the CD in mid-March, just in
time for No Fun Fest.

Orders are now being accepted

"Forbidden Ground" marks the welcome return of M.O. to
BloodLust! Pierpaolo Zoppo is one of the most remarkable
constituents of the original Italian industrial/power-electronics/
noise/experimental scene. He released a brace of brutal and
influential cassettes on the cult Aquilifer Sodality label, along
with a series of significant compilation tracks. Selections
from his early work were collected on the now-rare Japanese
LP, "Five Years of Slaughters" (1990, Vis-A-Vis Audio Arts),
while a beautiful 10-inch record, "Kiss the Carpet," was
released by Xn Recordings in 1999. Slaughter Productions
kept the Mauthausen Orchestra name alive in Italy, by re-
releasing Zoppo's early work, as a brutal double-CD, and in a
monumental limited edition cassette box set. Two of Zoppo's
contemporary recordings have been released by BloodLust!
(B!033 M.O. "Raising Vapours" CD - 1997, co-issued with
Body and Blood Exploration; and B!042 Mauthausen Orchestra
"Lost in Boyz Town" 7-inch - 1999), and he made a guest
appearance on the BLOODYMINDED "Gift Givers" CD (B!045,
2005). "Forbidden Ground" sees Zoppo taking a new approach,
re-working older recordings, while still generating a relentless,
ringing miasma of electronic sounds.

Thanks to everyone who came out to support the shows this weekend.

Friday night's basement show was a lot of fun. It was nice see a bunch of familiar faces and to meet so many people from all over the place... Michigan, Wisconsin, Ohio, etc. Even though it was a pretty low-key, party type of a night, everyone who played brought on maximum intensity. The multi-tiered Will Soderberg (log!)/Roxanne Jean Polise/Silvum set kicked things off very nicely, the Wigwam and Mildew sets upped the dose, Pat/Sisprum Vish added the necessary glitter, and the solo Silvum set was an excellent cap to the show. Watch for him at the Empty Bottle at the end of March... Thanks especially, to Steev/Roxanne Jean Polise, for setting up a great night! Charlie Draheim's absence was noted, but I have a test pressing of his excellent forthcoming Tone Filth LP on right now to make up for it... Grab it when it comes out!

Saturday's early event at the University of Chicago was definitely an odd one to be a part of, but everything went very smoothly. Thanks to Courtney, Julia, Ben, and everyone else from the Film Studies Center and from WHPK, who pulled off such an enjoyable evening. Thanks to Marlene, Ed, Jessica, Don, Heather, Lloyd, Charlie, and Grey, and everyone else who checked out my performance.

The Kevin Drum, Macronympha, Wolf Eyes show at the Empty Bottle was a blast to hang out at. It was a great way to end an intense week of shows and label nonsense and it was fun to run into so many friends from all over the place.

Special thanks to Marlene for the awesome "longest brunch in the world" on Sunday!!!

Monster March update to follow soon...
