Anatomy of Habit is post-Animal Law

A MySpace profile has been launched for my new band ANATOMY OF HABIT, which features three former members of Animal Law. There is not much there yet but I do hope that you will become our friend...

Thank you!

Status - 4/10

I just ran over to the Post Office to drop a bunch of eBay packages off... after spending the last two days working away to the sounds of Metallica, from start to finish... except that I do not own "S&M" so I had to turn to the Internet for that one... causing my chronological sequence to end up out of whack. And why? Oddly, they come up a lot in conversation at practice... often in jokes about "Some Kind of Monster" (Insert Animal Law joke here? Nah.) That, and after seeing their Rock & Roll Hall of Fame segments, I sort of wanted to revisit their first few album as it has been ages. Off to see Burning Star Core tonight, I hope...

Speedy Media

I am getting reports that people are already receiving their copies of the Prurient + Wilt LP. One message came in well under 20 hours after the records were sent out. As much as I dislike Media Mail, I am impressed that Chicago orders are already arriving, at least!

Status - 4/9

Prior to taking care of a nice batch of tacos de suadero at El Taconazo, Isidro and I got all of the Prurient + Wilt LPs, plus other outstanding orders, to the Post Office. As of 1:00 PM today, all paid orders have been mailed out. Major thanks to everyone who supported the Prurient + Wilt release, either with a purchase or with favorable comments. It is much appreciated!

Prurient + Wilt LP - SOLD OUT

To say the least, um... FUCK!
Reservations are closed, pending PayPal payments all arriving.
I will post back here if any copies free up.

Hands in search of a neck...

Intense practice, last night. We really worked hard... I mean, we generally always do, but there was hard playing and hard thinking going on. Pretty inspiring! Some of my "screams" were so extended that I thought I might black out. It has happened before, with BLOODYMINDED, but these are different... more "sung." I think that we resolved an issue with the end of one of the new songs... and if we tighten it up a bit more, it should be devastating. Really! But still, no unanimous decision on the name. Sigh...

Out Now: Prurient + Wilt "Blood of the Lamb" LP

BloodLust! New Release - Out Now:

Artist: Prurient + Wilt
Title: "Blood of the Lamb"
Format: LP (33 RPM)
Catalog Number: BloodLust! 098
Genre: Noise / Experimental / Power-Electronics / Dark Ambient

B!098 Prurient + Wilt "Blood of the Lamb" LP
(Front cover art printed in metallic silver ink on heavy white stock)

Pressed in an ultra-limited, hand-numbered edition of 100 copies; black vinyl
33 RPM with stamped white labels; silkscreened metallic silver-on-white heavyweight 12" x 24" sleeves, printed inside and out, folded over solid white LP jackets; includes a numbered, silkscreened, folded 10" x 20" poster. This is the long-planned full-length collaboration between Prurient and Wilt, and it follows their criminally short 2007 cassette, "Bottomfeeding Whore" (Turgid Animal). "Blood of the Lamb" represents a perfect blending of the two artists' musical styles, and it is an excellent follow-up to recent Prurient collaborations with Kevin Drumm ("All are Guests in the House of the Lord," 2007, Hospital Productions) and Sutcliffe Jugend ("End of Autumn," 2008, Troubleman Unlimited). This is pure darkness, pure fetish, pure filth...

Later Listening

Anti-System "No Laughing Matter"
Assuck "Anticapital / Blindspot /+3"
Pontiak "Maker" (Thrill Jockey)

This one is not a million miles away from All the Saints... if they merged a bit with Dead Meadow... still picking up a little bit of the God Machine sound... and maybe a touch of Alice in Chains!

Prurient 7-inch, Sold Out

B!093 Prurient "Whip Enthusiasts" 7-inch is now sold out

Afternoon Plays

After multiple spins of the Twodeadsluts Onegoodfuck test pressing, which has been approved, I moved onto Amebix (studio albums and live bootlegs), Zygote, Winter, Thorn, etc. Getting in the mood for May 29th. As if I am not in the mood already...

Sluts Test

The test pressings for the forthcoming Twodeadsluts Onegoodfuck 7-inch have arrived and the single sounds great! James Plotkin's (OLD, Khanate, Khlyst, etc.) strong mastering comes through loud and clear. I anticipate availability in time for the May update.

Black Metal Works

Earlier, it was doomy psychedelic stuff... Suma, mainly. Then I switched to Mayhem... "Deathcrush" and the "Pure Fucking Armageddon" bootleg... Off to Kuma's... The April special was quite tasty... Lynyrd Skynyrd... a burger with a fried green tomato, canadian bacon (not very Southern???), a fried patty of cheddar cheese (curd, I think) and artichoke heart, and some sort of balsamic brown sugar sauce dealie... But the point is, we are in the midst of another snowstorm. It is like Armageddon. Pelican had to cancel tonight at the Empty Bottle due to a storm, west of us, while Wolves in the Throne Room had already been replaced by Harppon... and I was pretty curious about Tombs live...
