Coming soon... Chris Connelly "Artificial Madness"

Now that the Sun Splitter and Anatomy of Habit LPs are in production, it seems like a good time to announce the next vinyl release scheduled on BloodLust!

B!172 Chris Connelly "Artificial Madness" LP

This is the LP version of the excellent album that Relapse released on CD, late last year.  The album features numerous friends of mine... Of course, Chris Connelly probably needs no introduction, but on a label-related note, he sang on the Plague Bringer "Burning Inside" CD single (B!155). Will Lindsay (bass) is a good friend who has sat in on bass with Anatomy of Habit, and I have played synth and done vocals live with his band, Indian. Will is also known for his work with Nachtmystium, Wolves in the Throne Room and Middian. Dallas Thomas (guitar) is known for his band The Swan King and he is also playing live with Pelican these days. His amazing guitar style and tone is unmistakable! Noah Leger (drums) has recently been helping out on drums with Anatomy of Habit and he is known from a number of groups, including Electric Hawk, Head of Skulls, Tight Phantomz, Milemarker, etc. Sanford Parker (keyboards, production, etc.) recently recorded the new BLOODYMINDED album, "Within The Walls," and he recorded and played synth alongside me on the forthcoming Wrekmeister Harmonies album "You've Always Meant So Much To Me." I am really excited to be releasing Chris' album on BloodLust!

Aquarius Records on The Fortieth Day + Sshe Retina Stimulants + Terence Hannum

The final installment in the recent batch of tapes from Land Of Decay, this one a three way collaboration between Terence Hanuum, he being one half of aQ faves Locrian, and two other groups we had never heard before, The Fortieth Day and Shee Retina Stimulants, and like the rest of the tapes in this batch (Number None, Ithi, Andre Foisy, Wraiths) this is another slab of grim, low end minimal blackness, a sort of post industrial thrum, all looped layers and blurred rumble and crunch, but LIKE those others, this is way more than just noise, the sound here is lush and haunting, the loops add a subtle rhythmic element, much of the time spent creeping and drifting and woozily shimmering, but the proceedings pocked with bursts of static, blasts of tangled psychedelic noise, the framework provided by sonar like beeps, and softly stuttering clipped loops that become actual rhythms, occasionally sounding like some murky sprawl of heroin house, while at other times like some sort of abstract doom pulse, a heady plunderphonic songsuite of blacknoise, post industrial drift, and blissed out psychedelic minimalism, that manages to be surprisingly hypnotic.

Sun Splitter "III" LP - Update #3

Test pressings for the forthcoming Sun Splitter "III" LP have arrived and upon first listen they sound excellent.  The band has copies to evaluate, so hopefully the pressing process will continue to move smoothly.  Currently, we are on track for a release date of June 22, to coincide with the RØSENKØPF, Anatomy of Habit, Maledicere and Sun Splitter show at Cobra Lounge.
