BLOODYMINDED is playing in Brooklyn tomorrow night and it's our first NYC area show in over eight years. It's our last show of the year and of this album cycle. Anatomy of Habit will also be taking a break from live shows and we'll be recording our new album in early January. The other big news is that I've completed the digitization/remixing/remastering process for all 100 Super Eight Loop recordings. What now?!?!?

ANATOMY OF HABIT

Anatomy of Habit formed in Chicago in October 2008 and is composed of Alex Latus (guitar), Isidro Reyes (metal percussion), Skyler Rowe (drums), Mark Solotroff (vocals), and Sam Wagster (bass + lap steel). The band encompasses elements of doom metal, post-punk, death-rock, noise-rock, industrial, psychedelic, and shoegaze. The band's last album, "Ciphers + Axioms," was released by Relapse Records.

Last December we recorded demos for our next album with Matty Russell at Altered States. Since then, we've been refining those seven songs at our weekly practices and during the live shows that we played in 2019. In about two weeks, we're finally recording our new album with Sanford Parker at Decade Music Studios. We don't currently have a home for the album but we absolutely feel that it's time to record definitive versions of these songs and we're excited to dive into the process...

BLOODYMINDED

BLOODYMINDED is a heavy electronic band that was formed in New York, in 1995, after the dissolution of the pioneering American post-industrial noise group Intrinsic Action, which was founded by Mark Solotroff, in Chicago, in 1984. BLOODYMINDED’s live shows are exceptionally energetic and are characterized by physical engagement, layers of abrasive analog synthesizer, aggressive vocals, and abundant feedback. In a live context, BLOODYMINDED celebrate and deconstruct the rock and roll performance.

Our final show of the year is tomorrow, Saturday December 14, 2019, with Rectal Hygienics, Pharmakon, Shredded Nerve and DJ Nikki Sneakers, at Apartment 202 in Brooklyn, NY. If you need further details, please feel free to send me an email:

THE FORTIETH DAY

The Fortieth Day is the duo of Isidro Reyes and Mark Solotroff, both key players in the heavy-electronics outfit BLOODYMINDED, a band known for its aggressive and confrontational live shows. In The Fortieth Day, Reyes and Solotroff utilize guitar, bass, drum machine, and analog synthesizer to create epic, blackened, psychedelic-industrial drone soundscapes.

We recently delivered a new master to Sergio Sanchez at Ruido Horrible in Mexico City and we're currently working with him on artwork and packaging design. More news soon...

NIGHTMARES

Nightmares is the synth trio of Jonathan Canady (Angel of Decay, Dead World, Deathpile, etc.), David Reed (Envenomist, Imvixor, Luasa Raelon, etc.) and Mark Solotroff (Anatomy of Habit, BLOODYMINDED, The Fortieth Day, Intrinsic Action, etc.)

The new Nightmares release, "Sub-Sonic Language Transmission," is at the duplication plant and the packaging elements are now with a printer. Things are expected to move a bit slowly, due to the holiday season, but we expect an early 2020 release. More details soon...

SUPER EIGHT LOOP
MINIMAL SYNTH MUSIC FOR ANALOG OBSESSIVES

Super Eight Loop is series of 100 hour-long analog synth recordings by Mark Solotroff, launched in 1993. Digitization of all 100 cassettes began in December 2018.

My thanks to everyone who has been streaming, downloading, and supporting this intense, year-long process! I've had some great ongoing conversations throughout the year, with both long-time and very new contacts,and the feedback has really added a positive dimension to all the work that went into this. All 100 recordings will exclusively live on Bandcamp, for now, unless I can figure out a feasible way to get them on iTunes, Spotify, etc. Now that the music is complete, I'm pleased to announce that I'm working on an illustrated "guidebook" of sorts, that will offer some background and context to the Super Eight Loop series. I'll be discussing the book more, soon, but in the meantime, here are the final recordings:
