Bryan’s set as Is started off the basement festivities at this rather interesting event. He worked some completely insane frequencies that ricocheted off of the brick walls and pretty much turned my ears into mush. Our set got going with good crowd energy and an enthusiastic response. Much like at Halloween, we had a few sound bugs to iron out, particularly as calls for “Louder!” were met and we overloaded the mixer a bit. I got into a bit of a tussle with an unhappy audience member but it did not stop me from finishing “Shock Pit,” appropriately, down on the concrete floor of a basement! Don’t rule out more of these all-Intrinsic Action sets from happening in the future, as I really like hearing those old synth patterns over a loud PA.
