Phil Vane R.I.P.

Along with early Napalm Death and Sore Throat, Extreme Noise Terror was one of the first wave of grindcore bands that had more than a passing influence on the direction that BLOODYMINDED would take, so I was sorry to read that vocalist Phil Vane died last week. Along with E.N.T., Vane was known for his work with the industrial-metal group Optimum Wound Profile, and even Napalm Death, at one point. I only got to see E.N.T. one time, much later in their career, but it was an intense show, made all the much better by the furious dual vocals of Vane and Dean Jones.
