- John Balistreri from Slogun just passed along the bad news that Greg Scott of Hydra, Final Solution, and Beg for Eden, died this week. Greg had always been a big supporter of Intrinsic Action, BLOODYMINDED, AWB Recording, and BloodLust! Prior to my move to Brooklyn, in 1992, at which time Greg was amazingly helpful in getting me situated, Greg visited me Chicago, and in early 1991, he played synth for Intrinsic Action, during our first show at CBGB. While we were not in touch regularly over the last few years, we began corresponding more often, after a photograph that he took was used on the back cover of last year’s re-release of the Intrinsic Action "Sado-Electronics" CD. In the past few weeks, we had been discussing details regarding the release of the long-delayed Final Solution 7" on BloodLust!

BloodLust! New Release:
Artist: Intrinsic Action (1984 - 1995)
Title: "Bad Jack"
Format: Compact Disc in standard jewel case
Catalog Number: B!044/Vestige CD 5
Genre: Power-Electronics/Industrial Noise
BloodLust! is happy to announce the release of the Intrinsic Action "Bad Jack" CD. The Arbeit Group, the short-lived but groundbreaking American industrial label, originally issued "Bad Jack," the band's fourth full-length release, in 1988, as a 60-minute cassette (Arbeit Recordings 002). These recordings, and the photography associated with this project, focused on the notorious Chicago area serial killer, John Wayne Gacy. Combining aggressive, sharp power-electronics, with longer, old-school industrial noise workouts, "Bad Jack" gives listeners an opportunity to explore a dynamic evolutionary period for Intrinsic Action.
For this re-release, Megan Emish and Mark Solotroff re-mastered the original tracks in 1997, on the Digital Audio Research Sound System, at Acme Soundworks, New York City. Two additional tracks were added: a live version of the song, "Bad Jack," recorded at CBGB, New York City, in October 1992, and a "Source Control" remix, created specially for this re-issue. Chris Greene, who has worked on numerous BloodLust! recording projects, engineered the final ultramaximized master in June 2003, at Alien Soundscapes, Inc., Chicago. Jonathan Canady of Deathpile executed new graphic design work, following the format that he established on the previous Intrinsic Action archival CD release, "Sado-Electronics" (B!029/Vestige CD 7).
Track listing:
1. "Bad Jack (Studio Version)" (7:45)
2. "Source Control 1 - Part 1" (23:55)
3. "Source Control 1 - Part 2" (22:54)
4. "Bad Jack (Live Version 1)" (8:46)
5. "Bad Jack (Live Version 2)" (2:51)
6. "Source Control (29 Below Mix)" (5:26)

BLOODYMINDED recently played two shows with the Boston noise artist, Karlheinz, in Detroit and in Milwaukee. "Thanks!" go out to Karlheinz for adding us to the shows; as well as to Grey and Ryan of Cleanse; Aaron and Wolf Eyes; The Detroit Art Space; Alex at Thee Crooked Haus - and Shane Tappa – who helped with "Moonwalker"; Juiceboxxx; Chris Mack - for driving up to Milwaukee with us, and Olivia - for lending us the comfortable truck; Ariel of Sine qua Noise, Risque at Bob Evans – where we clearly did not respond to the call for "Help!" --- and to the multitude of other bands, from Detroit, Milwaukee, and Madison, that also played: Dead Machines, Will Soderberg, IfIHadAHiFi, Mumber Toes, Piratecock!, Right Arm Severed, and Loop Retard (…sorry if we missed anyone). Both shows had small but enthusiastic audiences, and we are looking forward to the opportunity to return to these venues in the future.
