Another day, another Post Office run. All paid orders are up-to-date. Thanks to those who already picked up the new Sleep Museum CD, as well as those who continue to support the new M.O. CD. There has been a lot of chat about M.O. on the Troniks/Chondritic board, and it is good to see the interest and the enthusiasm. Hopefully, once people have had a chance to hear the CD, some feedback will start to appear on the board, too.

Unofficial MySpace for Mauthausen Orchestra

So, I have had a couple of complete listens to the forthcoming
Wierd Compilation Volume II : Analogue Electronic Music 2008 four LP set, which arrived yesterday, from Pieter. The tracks flow in such an amazing way -- which is no small feat -- trying to combine minimal synth and experimental/noise/synth stuff -- spread out over 140+ minutes. I think that a lot of people are going to be blown away by how well these worlds mesh -- united by the analog synth (and including an essay on just that subject. The PDF proofs of the artwork and the extensive booklet look fantastic, too. I believe it goes to the pressing plant/printer tomorrow, so it should not be too long now...

BloodLust! 104
Sleep Museum "Anasthesia" CD EP
$10.00 USA/$13.00 World @ postpaid
(The second disc in a short series of Sleep Museum EPs; Easily, one of my favorite artists of the last couple of years; Three tracks of rhythmic, darkly melodic synth- and drum machine-driven TRUE MINIMAL SYNTH music, with unrepentantly eccentric vocals, and dour lyrics; Utterly contemporary, yet also reminiscent of certain late-1970s and early-1980s "cold" music - a hint of Joy Division mood and a dose of electronic-era Death in June; The fourth track is a more experimental vocal piece, while the fifth track is a nearly 31-minute long experimental analog synth piece, far closer to the M.B.-style of dark electronics; We are calling this an EP, even though it clocks in at 48-minutes; Professionally duplicated CD, single panel, double-sided insert; color artwork; in jewel box with shrinkwrap; Released in 2008)

1. "Mea Culpa" (7:05)
2. "Before The Close" (3:26)
3. "Less Keenly" (3:43)
4. "What Do You Have?" (2:58)
5. "Capsule" (30:42)

Easter Noise +

It was nice to cap off Easter Sunday - which unfortunately celebrates mediocre milk chocolate products - with a good show... Winters in Osaka... tighter than ever... electronics, tapes, vocals, even some sharp beats... Druids of Huge... more urgent than ever, with their most ripping final two minutes! Velnias... cold, doomy black metal... suitable for this never-ending Chicago winter... then Andre and Terence of Locrian join Velnias, and all five musicians transition through a really intense ritualistic "harsh drone" feedback workout... with Locrian then delivering the most dynamic set that I have seen from them... swaying from overloaded amp saturation - to near-calm drone - back to a grand build-up of guitar, keyboard, tapes, and chanted vocals... Nice turnout for a chilly holiday Sunday night.
