Sonic Celluloid

Last night, I attended the Sonic Celluloid event at the Mary & Leigh Block Museum of Art at Northwestern University. Once again this year it was an excellent event with really interesting curatorial work. I thought that there was a nice balance between floating, ultra-minimal synth tones (Jessica Rylan), to weirder, denser synth structures (Caboladies), to lysergic minimal synth 'n roll (Peaking Lights), to full-on ugly brutality (Sightings). This was probably my favorite-ever incarnation of Sightings (live, recorded, etc.). It was fun to see a nice mix of friends both performing and attending...
