Weekend Recap

I have a lot to catch up with, but the first thing is to give a quick thanks to everyone who came out on Friday night to see Anatomy of Habit at Cobra Lounge. We had a great time and it was definitely a very successful show.

Sorting out the Boston Festival will take some time... MAJOR THANKS to Shane, Ted, Josh, Egan, Jenna, Yuan, and everyone else involved in making it such a totally amazing weekend!!!

For those who do not know, BLOODYMINDED played our first album - "Trophy" - in its entirety, barring the 20-minute song, "Overdrive." The crowd was simply amazing. Xavier flew in from France on Friday, Pieter drove up from New York on Saturday, and James and I flew in from Chicago on Saturday. Totally intense time together. Heartbreaking to have such a short time to spend with each other - and to not have Isidro there, too... Aaaahhhh!

On Sunday, I played synth for Consumer Electronics. Things totally clicked. What a follow up to the night before! And how amazing to go on directly after Martial Canterel! Here is the pre-show announcement/set-list that Philip posted, from his blog:

CE live at Boston O'Brien's tonight:

Mark Solotroff: live electronics
Philip Best: vocals, loops
Peter Sotos: visuals

setlist: how to stop, hand to mouth, cockpit, fuck boston I, amy song, hand to mouth, fuck boston II, crowd pleaser, parking lot, heartbreak

Lots more to write about, I suppose, after I settle in, a bit. But it was so cool to hang out with so many friends from all over the place and to see some of my favorite bands perform at such a high level... and what great BloodLust! representation, too: Bereft, Pharmakon, Twodeadsluts Onegoodfuck. Yes!
