Well, given the late start time, our collective condition, and the general physicality of the crowd and our set, it is no wonder that we came up short a couple songs from the set list. That said, we soldiered through a pretty intense performance. I think that we played through two PAs plus a big bass cabinet. I am not positive about the details, but there was sound coming from everywhere. And the engineer was not being coy about things... he was a really good guy. There was not as much banter as there was the night before... this crowd seemed to want to just go-for-it, rather than have a dialog. They win the award for most people screaming my own lyrics at me at once... and that was mainly just the Milwaukee guys, I think. Major thanks to Joe Beres and to Sam Stoxen, for inviting us to play at such an over-the-top festival! Thanks to everyone else involved in running the festival, as well as at the venue, for putting on such an excellent event. It was great to have an extended BloodLust! family thing happening on Saturday, with outstanding sets from Envenomist (two drop-dead nights in a row!), Climax Denial (Alex's best set of the 20+ that I have seen), Locrian, and Wilt. Speaking of Alex (and his bloody stump of a hand) Milwaukee ruled very, very hard. Not only did they send up a small army, but I got to witness TRTRKMMR live, which was worth most of the hours spent in the car (a lot can happen in 14 hours of car time). Fuck! Brad and David played an amazing set! It was also cool to play two nights in a row with Sightings. Both of their sets were ultra-intense. Overall, this was definitely one of those blink-and-you-missed something great sort of nights. It made it hard to stay put in the merch area. Although it was fun to have Penelope the Locrian Dachshund hanging around the table that night. Thanks to everyone who supported the new "Boston 2009" CD, the "Phases : Three" box set, etc. Again, it was great to have David in the fold all weekend. He finally got a solid taste of Pieter on stage, this time, which was sort of inevitable. It was such a fun weekend with these guys. We went straight from the highway to Kuma's Corner on Sunday night, to reconvene with Isidro, as his presence was dearly missed at the two shows. What else? Matisse: Radical Invention, 1913–1917 at The Art Institute, Continental, Rainbo Club, Bob-San, Treat, Buck's... Man, I have some really weird bruises from the whole weekend.
