New BLOODYMINDED live show downloads
While we go about our business in the background, we have two live recordings from late 2023, available exclusively on Bandcamp as free downloads - or "name your price" - as the site says...
The first one, from September, is more of a straight-ahead affair. If you're a big fan of my in-between song banter, well... sorry... this show didn't really deliver in that department. I was still a bit too rusty, I guess, from the long gap in shows. But if you dislike that sort of thing, then this may be an ideal live BLOODYMINDED show for you to check out.
The second one, from December, at the Peace Simulation Vol. II festival was, oddly, a matinee/daytime show, and I seemed to be more of my chatty old self. So, if you like the BLOODYMINDED standup style, then this one's for you, wherever you are.
Live - October 10, 2022 - The Empty Bottle - Chicago, IL

Anatomy of Habit - Summer 2022

We now have enamel pins available through our Bandcamp page, as well as at upcoming shows. They are round 1.25" black and silver pins with rubber pin-backs to hold them tight. Our "five nails" logo and the outer rim are raised nickel metal and the background is painted black.
They are $10.00.
Overseas buyers: due to the the increased cost of international shipping, we'd recommend purchasing this as an add-on to a CD, cassette, or LP order, so as to only incur an additional $2.00 postage fee, as opposed to the standalone cost of an international first class package.
You can find them here: https://anatomyofhabit.bandcamp.com/merch/enamel-pin

Speaking of shows, we have announced two summer shows, including our first visit to Grand Rapids, MI.

Beak, Anatomy of Habit, Vukari
Price: $8
You’re supposed to mellow out as you grow grayer and life
beats you into submission, but the members of Chicago instrumental
postrock institution the Timeout Drawer formed a metal band called Beak instead. They crank up the volume and with it the rage in their sound, largely by adding vocals. Beak’s new Let Time Begin
(Someoddpilot) is still heavy postrock in many respects—the meandering
interludes, the omnipresent moodiness, the rapid picking that
foreshadows a monstrous crescendo—but when guitarist-vocalist Jon
Slusher bellows like he’s struggling to expel the bile that’s eating the
pit of his stomach, the tracks become crushing. In one of the defining
flourishes on Let Time Begin, “Over the Shelter, the Morning
Breaks” (a more post-anything title, there is not) acts as a
two-minute-plus instrumental intro to album closer “Fiery They Rose,”
showcasing Beak’s proficiency at writing bristling postrock as well as
their newly acquired skill at letting it off its leash. —Kevin Warwick
