Permant Records features Anatomy of Habit
The Anatomy of Habit CD is in the listening
station at Permanent Records in Chicago and listed at a special price.
Here is what the store said on their website:
Anatomy Of Habit is one of Chicago's best-kept secrets. A five headed bone rattling machine of industrialized power and dark subtly. Anatomy Of Habit are hard to pin down or categorize but they combine elements of post-punk, death-rock, early industrial and repetitive doom to create huge and uncompromising pieces of music that build and burst and churn and lurch and pummel and destroy and you get the idea. Channeling influences of early Swans, Joy Division, Neurosis, The Sisters Of Mercy, Anatomy Of Habit sound like all and none of these as they have culminated a sound so completely their own with clean single picked guitar patterns that explode into distorted cacophony with gut rumbling bass and pounding drums and metal percussion that requires work gloves to perform all helmed by a powerful and charismatic voice. With members coming from varied backgrounds and other projects like Bloodyminded, Animal Law, Plague Bringer, No Funeral and Three Cheers For One Dead Man, Anatomy Of Habit have an alchemy all their own that punishes while drawing the listener in at the same time. Anatomy Of Habit use tension and repetition to create slow burn hypnotic sonics that are full of life and a haunting beauty that leave the listener with an eerie disturbance that all is not well. And do not miss the chance to witness this live, it is a spectacle that will long stay with you after its over. Hugely Recommended.

Chicago Sneak on Connelly LP
The release has not been officially announced yet, but Chicago folks wishing to pick up the Chris Connelly "Artificial Madness" LP on BloodLust! (B!172) may do so at either Reckless Records or Permanent Records.
Here is what Permanent had to say in their new update:
Here is what Permanent had to say in their new update:
YES! Chris Connelly's Artificial Madness was arguably one of the most overlooked records of 2011. Originaly released on CD by purveyours of heaviness Relapse Records, Artificial Madness gets some serious hometown love in 2012 by Chicago based BloodLust! Records. BloodLust! has been steadily releasing outstanding records by the likes of Anatomy Of Habit, Sun Splitter, Arriver and Rabid Rabbit. We've dropped drooling praise on their previous releases and now to finally get our grubby hands on Chris Connelly wax has us over the moon to say the least. Artificial Madness is first and foremost a rock record, which it being released on Relapse might lead one to believe this is a metal release but Connelly eschews his time spent in such legendary industrial bands as Revolting Cocks and Ministry and instead plows straight forward into thick muscular post apocalyptic rock with his warming croon over top of some punising rhythms and walls of guitar majesty; we're hearing echoes of Killing Joke, Wire and even some Public Image Limited tinges here and there, but like they put all those influences in a blender then blasted it out of a cannon. Higih octane, high energy dark jams from start to finish is what you'll get on Artificial Madness; after it's all said and done see what remnants of your mind are left. Connelly enlisted some of Chicago's finest to fill out his band of outsiders featuring members of Nachtmystium, Indian, The Swan King, and Electric Hawk giving Artificial Madness a walloping heft that is yet to be matched. Fans of Total Control, Pop 1280 and the paranoia-stricken sci-fi roster of Sacred Bones Records should definitely take note on this one. Mega Recommended.
Reckless posted this on their site:
13th solo album from ex-REVOLTING COCKS & MINISTRY vocalist CHRIS CONNELLY. Much like his other 12 albums, this one sounds nothing like the industrial music he cut his teeth with, but has a much more aggressive edge than any of his solo albums to date. CONNELLY channels WIRE, PiL & KILLING JOKE on "Artificial Madness" with the help of some serious players: NOAH LEGER on drums (TIGHT PHANTOMZ, HEAD OF SKULLS), WILL LINDSAY on bass (ex-WOLVES IN THE THRONE ROOM, INDIAN) & SANFORD PARKER (NACHTMYSTIUM, TWILIGHT) on keys and behind the boards. A very cool release!

Permanent Records on new Anatomy of Habit 12-inch
Very kind words from the folks at Permanent Records (Chicago/LA) who listed our new 12-inch as one of their "Featured Items":

nd even hints of Neurosis, Anatomy of Habit excel at the long form track with gentle guitar loops, surging bass lines, on the spot drums and a harrowing percussion set up that involves work gloves and various chains all topped off by front man Mark Solotroff's mighty croon. Combining these elements Anatomy Of Habit build things slowly and quietly with gentle melancholic feel before blasting off with a staggering power and volume to further lay waste your eardrums with some of the most daringly original heavy music we've ever heard. Hugely Recommended."

Permanent Records lists Arriver "Tsushima" LP
http://shop.permanentrecordschicago.com/index.php?product=N-LP+Arriver+-+Tsushima
Arriver - Tsushima - BloodLust! strikes again! Chicago's BloodLust! Records deals in all things heavy and unnerving. The new platter from Chicago neck breakers, Arriver, is yet another fine tome to chalk up to an ever evolving roster of jaw droppers. Arriver has unleashed a monster of an album with "Tsushima", here's what Chicago Reader music writer Monica Kendrick had to say about them:
"A vibrant and intellectually restless progressive metal band founded in 2004 by brothers Dan and Rob Sullivan, Arriver specializes in producing what are more or less books in musical form. The local four-piece's debut, the 2006 full-length Vanlandingham and Zone, was practically an epic sci-fi novel, complete with elaborate world building—which was allegedly inspired when a piece of voice-recognition software pulled a creepy ghost-in-the-machine routine and spontaneously generated the core text of that world's mythology. Their follow-up, the 2010 EP Simon Mann, was all about a failed 2004 coup in Equatorial Guinea, led by the British mercenary whose name gives the record its title. And this show is a release party for the amazing new Tsushima (BloodLust!), a retelling of a 1905 naval battle during the Russo-Japanese war that all but destroyed the Russian fleet, which had been weakened by a voyage around Africa. Arriver seem to acknowledge the courage and perseverance involved in such a battle with their eruptions, interludes, and grand pillars of riffage, but their sonic fury rests on an undercurrent of righteous anger provoked by the tragedy and futility of war. It's a testament to the genius of this band that they can turn a subject you might dismiss as interesting only to military-history nerds and war gamers into something that can grab you by the throat—at least if you can use your head and bang it at the same time."
"Tsushima" is a heady blend of massive riffs, precision drumming, burly guttural growls and slinky guitar interplay that is some impressive merging of early 90's Earache Records death metal a la Carcass with the tech-y journeys of Mastodon and rockin' swagger of Iron Maiden/Thin Lizzy fused with the never-say-die bravado of the Melvins. If you can't get with summa that, then you need to clean out yer ear holes, take a good long look in the mirror and reassess what the hell it is you are doing with your life. Do we even have to say it?.... RECOMMENDED.

Permanent Records on Anatomy of Habit
With thanks to the great folks at Permanent!
http://shop.permanentrecordschicago.com/index.php?product=N-LP+Anatomy+Of+Habit+-+Anatomy+Of+Habit
"Anatomy Of Habit is one of Chicago's best-kept secrets. A five headed bone-rattling machine of industrialized power and dark subtly. This is their first LP, a self released 2 side-long tracks affair that draws a line in the sand, parts seas and ascends to the heavens. Anatomy Of Habit are hard to pin down or categorize but they combine elements of post-punk, death-rock, early industrial and repetitive doom to create huge and uncomprimising pieces of music that build and burst and churn and lurch and pummel and destroy and you get the idea. Anatomy Of Habit use tension and repetition to create slow burn hypnotic sonics that are full of life and a haunting beauty that leave the listener with an eerie disturbance that all is not well. And do not miss the chance to witness this live, it is an spectacle that will long stay with you after its over. The LP comes housed in a black die-cut sleeve with their "Five Nails" logo cut out to reveal a silvery cosmos underneath that is [on the] thick Euro style sleeve. Mastered at Chicago Mastering Service by one Bob Weston, this record soars out of the speakers and takes your breath away. We are couldn’t be more jazzed to be able to introduce you to one of thee best bands going in Chicago via vinyl. Obviously, this LP comes with our highest of recommendations. Grab this slab and prepare to habitually scare the neighbors, anatomically."

Permanent on Rabid Rabbit
Here is a nice write-up of the Rabid Rabbit song (their take on "Gloomy Sunday") that I contributed vocals to, from the Permanent Records webstore:
Tape - Rabid Rabbit - Suicide Song
Available
Price: 4.99
One of the premier Chicago stoner/sludge metal bands returns after two solid vinyl 12"s with a cassingle, albeit a long one. Suicide Song is a super heavy, repetitive sludge jam with a very diverse group of guest musicians like Dave Rempis on baritone sax, Michael Zerang on percussion, Bruce Lamont on tenor and vocals, and Mark Solotroff on vocals. A virtual who's who of the Chicago metal and avant garde music scenes. The cast of egos does not get in the way at all. These folks worked together as a collective mind and created the best 11 plus minute "cassingle" we've ever heard. The flipside of the cassette sounds like the A-side played backwards; even that sounds pretty f'in cool. There's only 50 of these and they're all hand-numbered and featured the tar paper / red wax seal we've come to expect from RR releases. Recommended, indeed.
