Anatomy of Habit in Pitchfork Scene Report

Thanks to David Castillo at Saint Vitus for the excellent mention in the new Show No Mercy scene report on Pitchfork!

"A lesser known moment was when Anatomy of Habit played there for the first time, it was so bizarre in the way that they ended their set with just this crazy pounding doom metal riff and this dude with this thick chain just slamming against this metal in unison with it. It was the weirdest, heaviest, fucked-up, awesome thing. That was early on, and I was like, "OK, this is some shit you should see in New York City."

AoH - 11/5 - Recap

Thanks to everyone, especially all of our New York friends, who came out to see us play on Saturday night at Saint Vitus in Brooklyn. It was really great to see everyone there and to have such amazing support!  A huge thank you goes to Pieter Schoolwerth/Wierd for organizing the show. Thanks to Fred Pessaro at Brooklyn Vegan for promoting the show. Thanks to David Castillo at Saint Vitus for hosting us.  Saint Vitus is an awesome venue...right up our alley.  Thanks also to Nikki Sneakers and Jeralyn for the great after-show DJ set!!!  And a big thanks to our friends from Vaura and Rosenkopf for joining us and making this such a strong bill.  We played three songs, "Radiate and Recede," "The Decade Plan," and "Torch," adding  an intro to "Radiate and Recede" as we did on 10/27, and allowing "Torch" to stretch out with the long chain+vocal ending that we love so much.  The weekend went by in a blur, and most of it was spent in the van, driving there and back.  It felt great to finally bring AoH to a new audience in a different city, and we look forward to more opportunities to do so...

A slew of photographs are now online from the Anatomy of Habit show at Saint Vitus, with thanks to Mariah Karson, Chris Goudreau and Thomas Watkiss!

Brooklyn Vegan preview 11/5 AoH show

by BBG

Anatomy of Habit
Anatomy of Habit

BrooklynVegan & Wierd are proud to present the NYC debut of Anatomy of Habit in NYC, joined by the awesome Vaura and Rosenkopf. The show goes down at Saint Vitus on November 5th. Tickets are on sale.

Anatomy of Habit are welcoming their new doom crusher of an LP, which is up for sale now on vinyl and streaming in its entirety below. Mastered by Bob Weston (of Shellac, who play NYC tonight and tomorrow) and recorded by Andrew Ragin (of The Atlas Moth, who played NYC on Saturday), the LP is recommended for fans of emotionally charged doom metal like Corrupted, Neurosis, Monarch, and anything that pensively slashes-and-burns.

After a series of great live shows, Vaura are preparing to release their debut LP Selenelion on Wierd Records. The new long-player will see a release on vinyl/digital via the label early next year, but you can check out the first track "Obsidian Damascene Sun" below.

Rosenkopf released their Dispiritualized cassette in July of this year. Check out "Burning Spirits" from that release below, alongside the show flyer.
