The three East Coast shows seemed to be well documented, as people were using video cameras, digital cameras, and mini-disc recorders. If you have recordings or photographs of a BLOODYMINDED performance, we would definitely appreciate copies for our archives. Our DAT recorder cut out halfway through the Brooklyn set, assumedly, due to a stray brick, some mud, or Pieter’s general off-roading…
++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++
“Thank you” and “Hello” section: First, our gratitude goes to Peter Lee (Force of Nature Productions) for all of his hard work, and for including us in the three East Coast shows; thanks to Brian (Viodre) and Kyle Lapidus (Ignivomous) for setting up the intense Brooklyn event; thanks to Karlheinz for setting up the Boston event; thanks to Jamillah James for including us in the Load Records tour stop in Chicago, as well as for her wonderful hospitality; Xavier Laradji – for everything…; Pieter Schoolwerth – for running off and joining the circus; John Balistreri (Slogun) – as always…; Michelle – for hanging out; Jonathan Canady and David E. Williams (Deathpile) and Suzie – for a great final show, for playing a track off of your BloodLust! 7”, and for your continued support; Mikko “Fish” Aspa (Grunt/Freak Animal) for inviting us in the first place, and for the great mail-order support; Daniel (Antihumanism Records); Keith Brewer (Taint) we met at last; Stephen “Kickback” Bessac; Lee “Leech” Bartow (NTT) and Dan “merch bitch” Fox – for the support and the documentation, Chris Goudreau (Sickness) – for the awesome support and for bringing the noise; Mike Page; Thomas Garrison (Control) and Addie – good to hang out with you guys; Dominick Fernow (Prurient, et al) – for the crucial support and enthusiasm – the new split vinyl on Load is vital!!!; Emily and Kris (Football Rabbit) – for the enthusiasm – and the recording of our November show; Isis at Nassau Bar; Jeff Plummer (Immaculate:Grotesque) – good to see you again, great set in Boston!; Anne-Gael (Armageddon shop) – for the great support; Karlheinz – for organizing the Boston show, and for recovering Ed’s camera!; Alex “Sleepy” Smith (The Concrete Womb); Matthew Brannon; Alex and Constantine (Void Books / Coeur Noir Letterpress) – I cannot wait to see “Selfish, Little…”; Joshua Weiner (Evil Conspiracy) – for taking the excellent photos in Brooklyn; Suffering Bastard – it was great to play with you guys again; Em Dath Rir – hail crusty poverty black metal!; Unearthly Trance / Humanless Recordings; White Mice; As All Die; Rick “emptyfree.com” Kinney; Peter McCorkle; Blake Edwards; Grey – for hauling ass to Chicago, and for all of the new goodies! Nice shirt!!; Kites; Hair Police – Mike, Robert, and Trevor – for asking us to play in Chicago, and for all of the gnarly goodies – “Obedience Cuts” totally destroys!; Jamillah James (First Base/Texas Ballroom); Marlene and Baby for home base support; and Malerie and Jocko for supporting and tolerating rhythm-less music! Also, thanks to everyone who handed us compact discs, cassettes, and records – It will take some time to listen to everything, but it is much appreciated. Off course, our feeble apologies go out to anyone who we left off of the list…or whose name we misspelled…

BloodLust! April 2004 update

--------------------------------------------------

News:

Once the dust settles (literally), work will resume on the forthcoming
BLOODYMINDED compact disc, "Gift Givers." We have completed
the basic writing process, and we hope to return to the studio, within
a month, to record the vocals and to complete the final mix. We are
working on securing a rather tricky, surprise, guest contribution that
has been complicated for legal reasons...It will happen!

The next Intrinsic Action archival release, "Five" (Vestige CD 6), is
in the pre-production stage. Bonus tracks are being selected, and
we anticipate that mastering will occur in May.

How about a show of hands for petite "Pro-Ana" babydoll T-shirts?!?

BloodLust! March 2004 update

--------------------------------------------------

News:

The third Intrinsic Action archival compact disc (B! 046/Vestige CD 3),
"II," which includes the group's second official release, along with four
bonus tracks, plus new design work by Jonathan Canady, has been
released. The next archival release will be the band's fifth official cassette,
"Five," which was released by AWB Recording in October 1988. The
process of selecting bonus tracks is now underway.
(see Tuesday February 24 post for more details on I.A. "II")

A rough "vocal-less" mix of the forthcoming BLOODYMINDED compact disc,
"Gift Givers," is in hand. We are completing the writing process, prior to
returning to the studio, to record the vocals and to create the final mix.
Recording details will continue to be posted on the BloodLust! Weblog.

BLOODYMINDED is still scheduled to perform with Finland's Grunt,
and numerous other groups (e.g. Deathpile, Slogun, Taint, Sickness),
at three shows later this month:
NYC - 3/26 (Venue TBA)
Providence - 3/27 (The Living Room, 23 Rathbone Street)
Boston - 3/28 (Midway Cafe, 3496 Washington Street, Jamaica Plain, MA)
Our very special guest is Xavier Laradji ("Timeless" magazine) from
Toulouse, France, performing with the band for the first time since
2001. Complete details will be sent out in a separate e-mail, closer
to the time of the shows. Please consult with Force of Nature Productions,
the tour's host, for details: http://www.forceofnature.cc/

BloodLust! New Release:
Artist: Intrinsic Action (1984 - 1995)
Title: "II"
Format: Compact Disc in standard jewel case
Catalog Number: B!046/Vestige CD 3
Genre: Power-Electronics/Industrial Noise

BloodLust! is happy to announce the release of the Intrinsic Action "II" CD. Originally recorded in April 1986, utilizing an Arp 2600 analog synthesizer, "II" was issued as a C-46 cassette, the band's second official release. "II" shows a different side of Intrinsic Action; one that was initially influenced by several prominent groups of the day, including Lustmord, Throbbing Gristle (in particular, their soundscape work), SPK, (early) Hunting Lodge, and Maurizio Bianchi (MB). "II" was released in January 1987, the month following the band's first live performance, in a numbered private edition of ten copies, and in a numbered public edition of 50 copies. Atrocity Network released a licensed numbered U.K. edition of 50 copies in 1988. The original recording was released as two connected sidelong instrumental pieces, however, for this re-release, master tapes were used to present the two pieces as the single 45-minute-long work that was originally recorded. As bonus tracks, four unreleased works, recorded during the same time period, demonstrate a heavier approach, and ultimately introduce vocals to the release.

Chris Greene, who has worked on numerous BloodLust! recording projects, engineered the ultramaximized master in January 2004, at Alien Soundscapes, Inc., Chicago. Jonathan Canady of Deathpile executed new graphic design work, evoking the original cassette cover, and following the format that he established on the previous Intrinsic Action archival CD releases, "Sado-Electronics" (B!029/Vestige CD 7) and "Bad Jack" (B!044/Vestige CD 5).

Track listing:
1. "II" (45:57)
2. "Monitor" (Excerpt) (9:01)
3. "Universal Time" (Excerpt) (5:05)
4. "Libidinal Ramblings" (Early Instrumental Version - Edit) (4:36)
5. "Denial" (Edit) (9:10)

Price: $12.00

Friday, January 30, 2004

We have had two more recording sessions for the BLOODYMINDED CD, "Gift Givers," and we now have a very rough mix of the album's ten main songs, without vocals. The five blast songs, which include a re-mix of "A Song for Lisanne, a Young Model" (from the "Mothercare" CD-single), have vocals, and just need a final mix.

The master for the Intrinsic Action "II" CD should be at the pressing plant by the middle of next week. The artwork is complete, and it looks fantastic. Regarding questions about which Intrinsic Action release will be next, it will probably be "Five."

News from Toulouse: Xavier Laradji ("Timeless") has confirmed that he will be joining BLOODYMINDED for our East Coast shows in March. He last performed with us in August 2001.
