AUGUST 13, 2020 UPDATE
How is everyone doing out there? It's been cool to hear directly from numerous people in different cities and in different countries, regarding their unique situations, as theses past months have played out. Anatomy of Habit formed in Chicago in October 2008 and is composed of Alex Latus (guitar), Isidro Reyes (metal percussion), Skyler Rowe (drums), Mark Solotroff (vocals), and Sam Wagster (bass + lap steel). The band encompasses elements of doom metal, post-punk, death-rock, noise-rock, industrial, psychedelic, and shoegaze. The band's last album, "Ciphers + Axioms," was released by Relapse Records.
New Album: We're excited that we'll be working with Alexandra Lerman, a Brooklyn-based artist - and a dear friend, as we develop the cover art and the design of our new album. You can view some of her work here: https://www.alexandralerman.com/
Following a couple of changes that we requested, we're waiting for final mixes from Sanford Parker, and then we'll be moving on to mastering.
BLOODYMINDED is a heavy electronic band that was formed in New York, in 1995, after the dissolution of the pioneering American post-industrial noise group Intrinsic Action, which was founded by Mark Solotroff, in Chicago, in 1984. BLOODYMINDED’s live shows are exceptionally energetic and are characterized by physical engagement, layers of abrasive analog synthesizer, aggressive vocals, and abundant feedback. In a live context, BLOODYMINDED celebrate and deconstruct the rock and roll performance.
Live Album: Song selection is being finalized for our forthcoming CD, "Synths Up!" More news soon...
New album: Ten new songs are really forming and band members are continuing to share files and to review mock-ups of rough mixes. We'll keep assembling things remotely until we're ready to head into the studio with Sanford Parker to work on "amplified" sounds, vocals, and mixing.
Ensemble Sacrés Garçons was initially billed as a collaboration between Iugula-Thor and Intrinsic Action (with support from Sshe Retina Stimulants) and we released our debut in 1995, on Old Europa Cafe.
New album: Following the mastering stage with Collin Jordan at The Boiler Room, in Chicago, our forthcoming LP, "Demonization: These Worldly Powers," was sent to Smashed Plastic, a pressing plant in Chicago that opened in 2019. Cover artwork is still in progress but we anticipate working with a Chicago screen printer on that element..
The Fortieth Day is the duo of Isidro Reyes and Mark Solotroff, both key players in the heavy-electronics outfit BLOODYMINDED, a band known for its aggressive and confrontational live shows. In The Fortieth Day, Reyes and Solotroff utilize guitar, bass, drum machine, and analog synthesizer to create epic, blackened, psychedelic-industrial drone soundscapes.
Our thanks to everyone who has already supported our two recently released archival CDs! We've received some great feedback from people who hadn't heard the original cassettes from 2007.
Intrinsic Action was an industrial/power-electronics band, founded by Mark Solotroff in 1984, in Chicago, and dissolved in 1995, in New York, when BLOODYMINDED began.
New album: "Early Action" is out now on CD and all pre-orders have been mailed out. The CDs feature a 6-panel insert and they're housed in a jewel box. The digital has been released via Bandcamp but the original street date of August 21 is still in effect on iTunes.
Nightmares is the synth trio of Jonathan Canady (Angel of Decay, Dead World, Deathpile, etc.), David Reed (Envenomist, Imvixor, Luasa Raelon, etc.) and Mark Solotroff (Anatomy of Habit, BLOODYMINDED, The Fortieth Day, Intrinsic Action, etc.)
Nightmares "Sub-Sonic Language Transmission" Digital + Bonus Mix + PDF https://synthnightmares.bandcamp.com/album/sub-sonic-language-transmission The digital version includes a 41-minute bonus track, "A Detachment Of The Soul," which is a decidedly different sounding mega-mix of select tracks from the new album, created by David Reed. The download also contains a PDF of the companion booklet.
Super Eight Loop is series of 100 hour-long analog synth recordings by Mark Solotroff, launched in 1993. Digitization of all 100 cassettes began in December 2018 and finished in December 2019. All 100 recordings are available to stream and download, exclusively via Bandcamp.
In response to the current situation in the USA, and amidst the increasingly global fight against racial injustice, I unequivocally state that I am against the discrimination of African Americans. Further, I want to reinforce that I absolutely condemn white supremacy, racism, bigotry, chauvinism, sexism, homophobia and other oppressive beliefs.
