Night Four
I saw another excellent Sightings set at The Mopery, last night, along with a progtastic offering from Ga'an, some nicely structured and textured brutality from David Russell and Jason Soliday, and Sadhu Sadhu's tripped-out psychedelia, which at times veered a bit into a Loop-esque territory. I was hot and thirsty as Fake Lake was starting, so I ran out to get a drink and then got into a long conversation downstairs, thus I missed most of their set. It was cool to see two different Sightings sets, two nights in a row... even though the Sonic Celluloid set was improvised, elements of their songs, as played last night, remained in their arsonal. The mix of natural and synthetic drums, along with a very unique (simultaneously beautiful and hideous) guitar tone, totally help in defining their sound. Last night's big audience erupted into a writhing pit as the brutality and starkness was unleashed upon them...
