Late-Breaking Wrekmeister Harmonies Show (Fri. 8/9/13)
Sometime during the night, before my 5:00 AM alarm, J.R. Robinson sent me a cryptic text message (I turn my ringer off at night), instructing me to arrive at The Burlington at 9:30 PM on Friday night. I assume this means that Wrekmeister Harmonies (personnel unknown) will be playing with Chord (featuring Trevor de Brauw from Pelican) and Bottomed. If I knew more I would say so.

Beatcrave on AoH 5/12
A nice write-up on tonight's show from beatcrave.com
Anatomy of Habit | Saturday, May 12 | 9:00 pm | 21+ | $8 | Hideout, Chicago, IL – Map | The Chicago-based band’s morose and melancholy sound brings the glittery and uber shiny aspect of most mainstream music to a level more moderate, but really only by a few notches. They are of a very layered alternative rock, post-punk sound, with an overall by-degrees execution of sound progression and the right amount of edge at the right time to peak where needed. Very engaging, involving, and smartly done, perfect for the intimate Chicago venue. With Chord, John Mueller

The Chicagoist on AoH
Really kind words about Anatomy of Habit from Jon Graef at The Chicagoist:
One of Chicago's most singular, distinctive bands is post-everything act Anatomy of Habit, who concoct a delectable sonic witches' brew comprised of doom metal, shoegazer, goth, industrial, ambient, and hardcore. Last year's self-titled debut -- two tracks, 34 minutes -- caused a great deal of excitement for its serpentine, terrifying mood pieces. They'll be back with a new 12-inch EP, titled After The Water/Then Window, which, according to the Bloodlust newsletter sent out last week, has been sent to the pressing plant. (Bloodlust is the label of Habit/Bloodyminded mainman Mark Solotroff). Any word of a release date, and we pass it on to you. Anatomy of Habit play with Chord and Jon Mueller at The Hideout on Saturday, May 12. Pencil this show in, because it will no doubt be a memorable show.
