Andrea Cernotto of The Sodality was one of my earliest contacts in the industrial/noise/experimental world, initially to order Mauthausen Orchestra and other
cassettes from his Aquilifer Sodality catalog, and later as a friend. A few years after our initial correspondence, I was spending a summer in Venice, and I traveled to
Milan to meet Andrea for the first time. I also had the opportunity to meet Paolo Bandera of Sigillum S (and later
Sshe Retina Stimulants). This all set in
motion long-standing relationships with several great friends in Italy, and much through Paolo’s
energy, efforts and support, me releasing music by many excellent Italian artists, starting
with Sigillum S and continuing to Iugula-Thor, Sshe Retina Stimulants, The Sodality,
Mauthausen Orchestra, Atrax Morgue, Dead Body Love and Murder Corporation. Nearly 30 years have passed and now I will be traveling to Rome in a
few weeks to perform with this legendary group, The Sodality, at the Destination Morgue VII festival.

THE SODALITY is considered among the
truly original Power Electronics innovators, authors of some of the
most striking and unique examples of audio lust and noise assault
ever committed to recorded media.
Their 80’s releases (i.e. the BEYOND
UNKNOWN PLEASURES album and the ORGIES OF CRIME 12”) are sordid
gems of vocal exuberance and surgical overload, revered and feared
throughout the hidden sewers of the most brutal underground forums.
After the 1997 one-off single,
CONFUSION, THE SODALITY will grace the Roman arena with a
fully-fledged line-up which is going to include Eraldo Bernocchi and
Paolo Bandera (both from SIGILLUM S and many other [individual or
collective] acoustic oddities [such as IUGULA-THOR, ASHES, SSHE
RETINA STIMULANTS, OBAKE, etc.), as well as Mark Solotroff from
BLOODYMINDED / ANATOMY OF HABIT / THE FORTIETH DAY (and much more).
This is going to be a really special
and historical event, bringing together in a live environment an
unprecedented mix of all THE SODALITY’s angles……AND SO YOU
SHALL!
