Gossip Wolf: New blood in Anatomy of Habit

From the Chicago Reader:

We haven't heard much from Anatomy of Habit, Chicago's unholy apostles of the long-form metal dirge, since original drummer Dylan Posa left town last March—but core members Mark Solotroff, Blake Edwards, and Kenny Rasmussen have two new tracks in the can that both top 20 minutes—and Solotroff says "Radiate and Recede" is "probably the heaviest thing that we have recorded." Guitarist Will Lindsay (Indian, Wolves in the Throne Room) has replaced Greg Ratajczak, and Tortoise drummer John McEntire has taken over behind the kit; the sessions were at McEntire's studio, Soma, with Sanford Parker behind the boards. Both Lindsay and McEntire are also part of the band's live lineup, which debuts this spring. There's no release date yet for the new material, but a self-released CD compiling AOH's first LP and EP should be out in February, distributed by Solotroff's BloodLust! label.

News on AoH's Dylan from the Chicago Reader Gossip Wolf column

Anatomy of Habit drummer and bassist Dylan Posa is quitting the band and disbanding his own Three Cheers for One Dead Man—because he's leaving for Ohio. "My wife and I had been looking for some place to kind of settle down and find a nice school system for my son," he says. He's landed a job managing an entertainment complex in a small town 40 minutes from Cincinnati. Anatomy of Habit is trying out replacements, and will play a final show with Posa on Fri 3/23 at Cobra Lounge—the day before he moves.

Gossip Wolf on AoH LP

From the Chicago Reader Gossip Wolf column:

Heavy-as-fuck five-piece Anatomy of Habit has been one of the city's best live units since its inception nearly three years ago. The group includes several local luminaries—among them vocalist Mark Solotroff (Bloodyminded), guitarist Greg Ratajczak (Plague Bringer), and drummer Dylan Posa (Three Cheers for One Dead Man, ex-Cheer-Accident)—and they bash out furious, doomy hate metal that sounds like it's been crossbred with postpunk dirges and gothic torch songs. The band expected to have its self-titled debut on hand for its show with Secret Chiefs 3 at the Empty Bottle last weekend, but the records didn't arrive in time. Anatomy of a bummer! The guys tell Gossip Wolf that they've got the vinyl now, and that local record stores should have copies later this week. It's totally recommended!
