Indian Synth Session

My thanks to the gentlemen of Indian, and Sanford Parker, for having me over to Soma to contribute some synth/noise to the next Indian album on Relapse. Will Lindsay brought in his modular rig, and I went back to the Wasp that we used on the forthcoming Anatomy of Habit album, since I have a bunch of my gear set up at the Wrekmeister Harmonies space right now.  I tried a couple of Endangered Audio Research pedals, including The Gristleizer, which were fun to mess with, as I am not at all well-versed in the boutique pedal world.  That combination seems way too old-world industrial though...EDP Wasp+Gristleizer...Ha!

Gossip Wolf: New blood in Anatomy of Habit

From the Chicago Reader:

We haven't heard much from Anatomy of Habit, Chicago's unholy apostles of the long-form metal dirge, since original drummer Dylan Posa left town last March—but core members Mark Solotroff, Blake Edwards, and Kenny Rasmussen have two new tracks in the can that both top 20 minutes—and Solotroff says "Radiate and Recede" is "probably the heaviest thing that we have recorded." Guitarist Will Lindsay (Indian, Wolves in the Throne Room) has replaced Greg Ratajczak, and Tortoise drummer John McEntire has taken over behind the kit; the sessions were at McEntire's studio, Soma, with Sanford Parker behind the boards. Both Lindsay and McEntire are also part of the band's live lineup, which debuts this spring. There's no release date yet for the new material, but a self-released CD compiling AOH's first LP and EP should be out in February, distributed by Solotroff's BloodLust! label.

Anatomy Of Habit - Studio Update

Anatomy of Habit is pleased to announce that they just wrapped up the recording of their second LP.  For this outing, they returned to Soma Electronic Music Studios in Chicago. The band recorded two songs - "Radiate And Recede" and "Then Window" - each clocking in at over 20-minutes in length. Sanford Parker engineered the session, he is co-producing the album with Anatomy of Habit, and he will handle mixing duties. For this yet-to-be-titled release, the three core members of Anatomy of Habit - Blake Edwards, Kenny Rasmussen and Mark Solotroff - were joined by Will Lindsay (of Indian, ex-Nachtmystium, ex-Wolves in the Throne Room, etc.) and John McEntire (of Tortoise, The Sea and Cake, etc.).  McEntire previously engineered and co-produced the band's 2012 self-titled EP.

For this recording:
Blake Edwards: Percussion
Will Lindsay: Guitar
John McEntire: Drums
Kenny Rasmussen: Bass, Piano
Mark Solotroff: Vocals, Synthesizer

No details regarding label or release date are currently available.

The band is currently anticipating a February 2013 release date for the CD version of their two previous vinyl releases.

Anatomy of Habit status

Hi, how have you been?  We are wrapping up production on the CD version of our two vinyl releases.  Our friend, Jonathan Canady, has been hard at work on the digipak design.  As previously mentioned, Bob Weston already completed the mastering for this release.  We are also excited to mention that we are booking studio time for early January, to record "Radiate And Recede" and "Then Window." All we can say right now is that we are returning to Soma Electronic Music Studios.  More details to follow, soon...
